The Wonderful world of Plushy’s

Mini Mustachio Rules

Mini Mustachio Rules

Welcome to the wonderful world of plushy’s by Emi Tanji. Not only are her creations the cutest things ever and make me happy, but Emi herself is the cutest thing ever and makes me happy too. This Hawaiian native is a graphic designer for “Wizards of the Coast” and makes plushy goodness in her spare time. Each creature has its own unique look and feel. Everyone who comes in goes right for these guys making it hard for her to keep up with the demands. Emi also does all her own graphic work in her display and tags for each one. High energy and always smiling is what sets Emi apart and it comes thru in all her tiny creations.

My Gorgeous Sign

If you are reading this blog you probably noticed my happy delusions page header. Well, that is the wonderful work of Norman Petersen. He designed the sign, and it is what everyone see’s as they pass by the shop. I have no idea what techniques he used, but it’s all painted and totally looks like old tiles. His card describes his work as Faux Painting / Authentic Venetian Plaster. I love it! I knew when I saw the blue prints it was going to rock, but man………..I had no idea. Norman is a local Rentonite, and if you live in the neighborhood you have seen him ridin around on his bike or getting coffee at Jet City. He is an easy person to work with and has a strong vision with talent to boot! He does both commercial and residential work, and can be contacted at www.petersenfinishes.com or email him at petersenfinishes@gmail.com. My sign has been up since July and people comment on how beautiful  it is all the time. I agree, some days I just stare at it and think how I’m the luckiest store front in Renton.  So be sure to tell Norm what a wonderful job he did, and mention that he lives in Renton too, he loves it here.

To see closer, better images of this sign and more of Norm’s work you can check out his blog at http://petersen-finishes.blogspot.com/

Finger of God

For those of you who don’t know. Renton put on it’s first, of hopefully many, film festivals this past fall. The winner was a flick called “The Finger of God” by Sam Graydon and Bob Anderson. They have since started a whole you tube following and now have 3 parts the the series. I make my you tube debut in part 3. The 2 stars, Sam and Bob come into happy delusions to discover me selling the I heart Renton tee’s that they claim is their idea. So not true! But it’s nice to see so much support for our little wonderful town. So check it out! If you haven’t been in the shop you can see what it looks like and I look super cute, of course. You can check out more work by Sam and Bob at www.youtube.com/polmadeq or donkeyparkproductions@live.com Enjoy!

Welcome 2009!

2009 is here! I’m super excited about the coming year. I really wanted to start out the year with a bang! But I wasn’t looking forward to starting out hung over, so instead of drinkinin the new year I played it mellow, tuning my guitar and relaxing. It was decided by me that Me and My cousins Brian, and Vinnie should do some band bonding my jumping in the water in Renton’s Bear Dip. About 1 am I started to get cold feet. Vinnie bailed out right away, and Brain was at my door by 10 speedo and all. Yikes! Now that’s showing commitment to the band. I couldn’t not go, and thank god because my parents had traveled down to watch us. Thanks for taking photo’s Dad! So it was rad, in and out and the worst part was my toes on the cold beach.  After a nice long hot shower I went to breakfast with my parents and then on my first solo vaca. Now I’m back and ready to be an active blogger. I am curious what everyone’s new year goals are. And if anyone in the Renton area wants to start running with  me. Please! I’m ready. Happy New Year World!
