Spoutlets for Spring!

Spoutlets

Spoutlets

Even as I walked thru the hail this fine spring morning to get to work, my thoughts we’re on all the small signs of the season. The beautiful blossoming tree’s outside my apartment, all the bushes with buds trying to pop up, and people starting their spring gardens. I have on my patio the beginning process of a sroutlet by the toysmith company. I gave one to the fine folks at Coffee and Cupcakes last spring and they did such a great job doing the hair different almost everyday, I could hardly wait for this spring to come so I could do my own. So as I remain hopeful for more sun on the way even thru are March Madness I have begun my first plant, and there is sure to be some rockin grass hairstyles to follow.

You have the Answer!

I know I know.

I know I know.

This is my quote of the moment. I always know exactly what I want, as I believe everyone does. But, life gets in the way of us seeing that sometimes. I myself am a total fence rider. I will be undeceives as long as possible if I know the answer to what I want is the hard answer. But I will tell you that once I make my choice, I go with it full force and never look back. I need to remind myself of this from time to time because once I make a choice, I always feel better. So this is the magnet I’ve been crushing on, brought to you by Quotable Cards,  said by Lao Tzu, and pondered by me.

Let’s talk about Girlfriends

Deb is the best neighbor a girl could ask for. She brings me tea everyday, yummy treats (far more than she should) and showers me with retro finds and old knitting books. What a nice lady. Today she surprised me with a beautiful scarf she made this week. She hasn’t knit since 1973, and said she just knew she had to make me something spacial with this yarn she found. I cannot say enough nice things about Deb, and this really made my day. Next time you come down to happy delusions, stop in and give Deb a hug. Not only does she deserve one, but she will treat you like family and no one leaves her shop empty handed. Even if you don’t find what you need, Deb will send you out the door with a flower and most likely with a smile on your face. She’s one of the reasons Renton is ahead of the curve.

Art Escapes

Daisies in Gold

Daisies in Gold

Laura Scheuffele is an amazing local artist who I met last spring at Renton’s Spring Festival. It was the first event happy delusions sponsored and despite the snow and freezing weather in April, all the artists were in great moods. Laura’s work caught my eye right away and was so pleased when she decided to showcase in the shop. Laura works with everything from watercolor, ink, pastels, and Acrylic. “Daisies in Gold”, is the first piece I’ve bought from Laura and goes perfect with my home decor. She has all her work framed and still manages to sell at a great deal!

Corndog Vs. Broccoli

I'm scared.

I'm scared.

The latest of the rival foods is now available. So here are your contenders; Captain Corndog, coming in at a height of 51/2 inches, weighing 75 grams, a whooping 170 calories, 16 grams of carbs, taste delicious and is best with mustard. Verses Baron Von Broccoli, coming in at 4 inches, weighing 72 grams, a mere 20 calories, only grams of carbs, taste healthy and best with cheese. Only one can remain at the top of the food chain, and thanks to the wonderful people at Accoutrements, you can help decide the outcome with these bendy’s. For added fun, also pick up the classic, Bacon Vs. Tofu, and let the winners of each duo go at it for the heavyweight title of the food chain.

A dirty brawl is about to ensue.

Spring has Sprung!

Okay so maybe here in Renton it rained all day the first day of spring, but today is gorgeous! And even with the flowers still waiting to come up and fill us all with the excitement and wonder of all things new, you can still start your garden today. Come on in and see all our wonderful garden art. These flowers are always in bloom.

Buttons Galore!

Who doesn’t love a good button. Seriously? Mostly buttons remind me of 6th grade when it was super cool to have a ton of keychains (because 6th graders have so much keys to keep track of) and buttons on your jacket, bag, where ever. Now I love buttons because it’s an easy was to give a “hey, just thinking of you” gift. Ephemera Buttons are great and fun to watch people read. Never failing to come across one that makes you smile, or straight laugh out loud. Oh, and all Ephemera products are made in the U.S.A.
