Happy Birthday Mike!!!!

My sweet honey

My sweet honey

Just in case you don’t live in Renton, and are not a part of the DTR crew, I thought everyone should know it’s Mr. Moskowitz’s birthday. Go in to his newly opened Liberty Cafe (right next door to happy delusions) and get yourself the best cup of coffee this side of the European Peninsula! LOL! That’s the “quote” used in a local newspaper that Mike apparently said. I know he’s much smarter than that though. Smartest person you’ve ever met says him.

But anyways. This is just a shout out to my honey to wish him a very happy birthday, and to remind everyone else how lucky we in Renton are to have Mike on the block.

Happy Birthday Crunchy!

Linda Vidmar has lived in Renton here entire life and is one of the most admired artists in happy delusions. You can catch her ceramics here and at various show throughout the town. I am always amazed when Linda tells me she is new to the world of pottery. She stands behind all her work and never puts anything less than perfection out for sale. Her prices are great and the colors are vibrant! Every week Linda and her very supportive husband John are down in the shop redoing their booth and bringing in new goods for us all to check out, but hurry in because her items go fast.

My Very Own Mermaid Tail!

The little Mermaid!

The little Mermaid!

What little girl doesn’t dream of being a mermaid princess? No seriously. That’s how I would spend a majority of my time under water in Lakeridge Pool. Dreaming I had my own beautiful tail and exploring the world below the surface. Jeez, come to think of it, I still do this. Cool. When I first saw these colorful tails I was thrilled. I could just picture my child self loving it. The very talented Kasey, creator of World of Whimm, is an excellent seamstress with an eye for fantasy. These Mermaid tails, along with other amazing creations, come in a variety of colors (even bright yellow! yeah!) and different sizes. Come pick one up for your little mermaid, and check more out online in her etsy shop.

Happy Earth Day Shopping!

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Forget those awful plastic bags. That is unless you are planning on cutting them into strips and crocheting a hammock out of them, in that case, go plastic. But for the 99.2% of us who will probably never do that, it’s seriously time to get a heavy duty bag for all your shopping needs. And yes, save the planet as you do so. With this bag by Blue Q you can do it all and let the world know with its oh suddle message on the side.

Buy My Rad Dog!

How easy is that!

What a great idea!

So my friend Paula and her man are the outdoor type. They have huge dogs and are usually seen on a mountain holding a leash while their dogs run wild. Through years of doing this, they had enough with the leash holding and thought there was no reason their dogs couldn’t carry their own leash. They have created Release N Run and what a great product it is.  The original leash and collar in one, made for the mostly off leash dog is ideal for walking, running, hiking, hunting, Mt. Biking, and off leash dog parks. Features strong and durable 1000d Cordura, strong Duraflex pet buckles, strong aircraft grade stainless steel cable, two different sizes depending on weight,  a wide variety of colors, and it’s made in the USA! Check out http://www.myraddog.com for more details.   picture-041

The Picaroon

For all your Renton garrrr-sop.

For all your Renton garrrr-sop.

If you live in or around Renton, or are planning a trip to the area you absolutely must check out “The Picaroon”. Lady P as she refers to herself is the “Mistress of the blog”. She’s very local and truly cares about the community and the people in it. Every time I visit The Picaroon (which, if you didn’t know as I didn’t, means pirate) there is a new post. Sometimes she post several times a day AND she has a second more personal blog that is also updated regularly.  Lady P takes beautiful photo’s and really gets in touch with the people. Her focus is mainly the downtown area, which makes complete sense for someone who lives and plays in our wonderful downtown. Although the very bouncy, cheerful, sunshine that is Lady P has requested that photo’s of her not be posted, but look out for her at the next city function taking pictures. She may even ask to use your photo in her very popular blog. And for goodness sakes, if you have an event coming up that you think us locals should know about please contact her. After all her info. is likely posted that day.
