Michael Jackson is Dead!!!!

Michael_Jackson_Thriller-frontI don’t care who you are or where you are, but there is no one on earth who doesn’t know who Michael Jackson is, or who hasn’t been effected by this tragic news. Regardless of how you feel about his personal life, he was king in the 1980′s, and ruled. Captain EO was my hero as a kid, (and I am still in search of a Captain EO tee size small if anyone has any leads). I am personally feeling very emotional about the news as I have always felt bad for this person who has absolutely no sense of reality. Michael Jackson may you find the peace you never had, and know that you have changed this world with your talent.

The cultural Icon died in his home of cardiac arrest Thursday June 25th 2009 around 3p.m.

So from today until the end of the month, come in for 25% off all her lovely merchandise. We will miss you Jonah.

Geometry and Art

Picture 057

Stop on by during the month of June and see these great projects from grade 9 Geometry students at Hazen High School.  They are 4 foot by 4 foot “quilts” made from construction paper.  Each square is an example of a geometry concept.  They are nicely done and prominently displayed in the front window and in the front of the shop.

The 3 / 50 Project

PICK 3, SPEND $50, SAVE YOUR LOCAL ECONOMY

But in a nutshell, here’s what it is.

  1. What 3 independently owned businesses would you miss if they were gone?
  • Stop in.
  • Say Hello.
  • Buy something that makes you smile.
  • Remember that your purchases are what keep those businesses around.
  • If half the employed population spent $50 each month in locally owned independent businesses, it would generate more than $42.6 billion in revenue.
  • for every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures.  If you spend that in a national chain, only $43 stays here. Buy online and nothing comes home.
  • it takes only 1 person to start the trend.
