I’d like to introduce all you hd fans to our newest artists Anna Wiggs. Anna is an amazing mixed media artist who stumbled upon my shop, and I couldn’t be more happy to have her work displayed here. Her work is fun, fresh, energetic, and to me very reminiscent of one of my favorite childhood books, “The Snowy Day”, by Ezra Jack Keats. So be sure to stop in and check out all the fantastic colorful work from this up and coming artists.

SIFF Comes to Renton
Starting this Friday, May 20th the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) will be making it’s Renton debut! Join us for the SIFF-Renton Opening Night Screening & Gala at the Renton Pavilion Event Center located adjacent to The Piazza in Downtown Renton. Here we will watch a film by Mario Van Peebles titled, “Black, White, & Blues”, starring, Morgan Simpson, Michael Clarke Duncan, local Tom Skerritt, Luke Perry, Kiele Sanchez, and Taryn Manning. Then following the film we will mingle and have tasty treats from Renton’s finest restaurants, and you never know you might show up at one of these events. I’m just sayin.
I had the opportunity last week to see multiple previews for some of the upcoming films that will be shown here in Renton during the downtown film walk. Besides the Gala event this Friday, I’m most excited to see “Boy“. A film out of New Zealand by Taika Waitit. The same guy who brought “Eagle Vs. Shark” into my life, which I love, so I can’t wait to see what this film will bring. It show’s here in Renton May 26th at 6:30.
SIFF will be hosting a week-long screening of films at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center from May 20–26, 2011. The City of Renton is honored to become part of the longest running, largest and most highly attended film festival in the United States. Thousands of visitors will be coming into Renton from throughout the region and the world to experience our city, restaurants, hotels and other businesses.
