DTR Stickers are here!

FINALLY! Geez, it only took me like 3  years of talking about it. Worth the wait people, well worth the wait. Done on a reflective background in the Euro-trendy style. Because as you know the City of Renton is “Ahead of the Curve”.

2 sizes to choose from.

The Passion behind Ms. Maude

Velvet, cashmere, silk, taffeta, are all some of the upcycled “feel me” fabrics behind the one-of-a-kind accessories and home decor made on a budget by Ms. Maude. Finding most of her materials at thrift stores, and yard sales makes it easy to pass the savings on to you, and kudos’ for helping to give new life to a tired sweater or unused vintage button.

Ms. Maude is the newest artist here at happy delusions, and can also be shopped on the world-wide web by way of her Etsy Store. Keep up the good work lady, we heart it mucho!

Joey Katzer does it again

Amaze me that is. And this Friday, October 7th from 5-9 you can meet Joey here in the shop. She just dropped off 9 incredible new pieces. A good mix of pen and ink, and Encaustic wax finished work. All titled in a very Joey Katzer type humor that makes the piece even more spectacular. Please check out more of Joey’s work on her flickr page.

Smell them Flowers

August is here, and it seems that summer is too! Finally. And to celebrate we have Jennifer Brooks-Owen back by popular demand. This time she comes at us with something a little different. Although I suppose we always expect something a little different from this one.

Jennifer Brooks Owen is a multi-media artist residing in Renton Wa.  Her work ranges from handmade glass jewelry to multimedia paintings on paper.  Jennifer has received her art degree from Oklahoma State University in illustration and was awarded the Universal Limited Art Editions (U.L.A.E.) internship in New York City.  She served as an artist assistant to Elizabeth Murray, Carroll Dunham and Jane Hammond as well as master printers assistant at U.L.A.E. Jennifer moved to Renton in 2004 and has been exhibiting at Happy Delusions since 2009.

From 5-9 This Friday, August 5th come in for some wine, tasty treats, art, and meet this amazing artist. I know I’m excited to see all the new vibrant floral pieces Jennifer has been working on over the last couple of months. It’s going to be a grand time for sure, I can’t imagine a night with Mrs Brooks-Owen being anything less than fantastic! See ya there.

Anna Wiggs

I’d like to introduce all you hd fans to our newest artists Anna Wiggs. Anna is an amazing mixed media artist who stumbled upon my shop, and I couldn’t be more happy to have her work displayed here. Her work is fun, fresh, energetic, and to me very reminiscent of one of my favorite childhood books, “The Snowy Day”, by Ezra Jack Keats. So be sure to stop in and check out all the fantastic colorful work from this up and coming artists.

Born and raised in Seattle, Kelly Affleck combines her passion for design with the understanding of her clients unique vision. With over 14 years of design experience, Kelly knows the questions to ask that identify how best to represent your event through invitations, custom favors and especially those little touches that you just can’t find anywhere else.

All of Kelly’s work is hand crafted and uses a variety of printing techniques including letterpress and screen printing.

On top of all that, Kelly happens to be a super duper cool human. She’s been in happy delusions as part of the etsyrain team, and does classes for the wee ones as well. She designed the poster for the craft swap we had here in August, as well as doing graphic work for other events all over the city. She also does graphic tee’s ranging from XS – 3X. Her octopus deep neck grey tee being my personal favorite, and one I wear all the time.

But probably the best thing about Kelly is after meeting here just once you will feel like a friend, and she can put a smile on my face 100% of the time.
