Reminding people daily to shop local and help keep our carbon footprint to a minimum. And hey, might as well get a jump on the holiday shopping season early. Come support some local talent and get something completely unique. And remember for every $100 you spent locally $68 returns to the community, and you’ll feel great about supporting a friend or neighbor who can then go out and spend their money made locally as well. Yeah community! These guys are great, so come out and support the show, oh, and come by and say hi to me on the 2nd floor and check out all the felt work I’ve been doin. Dj Corporate will be spinning the jams all weekend long too, so come by and check out this hot up and coming Dj while you still can.

I will be in front of happy delusions along with the very talented Jennifer Brooks-Owen. DJ Corporate will be spinning beats during the festivities, and a good time is sure to be had. Don’t miss out, the streets of South 3rd will be filled with Art and Artists, starting at Main Ave and continuing up all the way to Safeway! Then at 6 at the Renton Civic Theatre Rentons own EriAm Sisters will be performing. The whole event is FREE! Woo Hoo! although there is a suggested $10 donation to see the EriAm Sisters. Not bad for a Nationally known act.  For more information on tomorrows events go to arts unlimited website.

Hot Pink Fuzz

How did I not know about this show til right now!?! I’m so upset. If there is one place in the entire world I would like to be tomorrow night it would be at this show. I’m not shy about my love for Snaggs. I think she’s cute as a button and talented as all hell. I stock her work online, and yet, nothing about this San Fran show beginning tomorrow at Giant Robot. Miss Muju will be there too with all her amazing plushies made of pure win. Cuz I’m telling you one cannot lose with that much talent. I really want one of team muju’s  originals to be mine! So here they are teamed up doing an awesome show unbeknownst to me. Now I’m not too sure who Monyomonyo is, but from what I can tell, it won’t disappoint, and I need to look into it further. So if your like me and feeling unfaithful to your favorite artists by not supporting their show in Cali, don’t worry too much because you have til Sept 8 to get down there and see it. Yes you will still miss the reception tomorrow night, but at least then you can call and brag to me how you went and it was the most amazing experience of your life!

Art & Antique Walk

The 5th Annual Downtown Renton Art & Antique Walk livens up Downtown’s streets with paintings, multi-media, pottery, sculpture, crafts and photography displays from over 100 local artists.  Meet the artists, explore the antiques, enjoy live music and dance performances and rediscover Downtown Renton.  Exhibits and performances mostly along S 3rd. from 11-6, on Saturday August 28th.

I will be participating this year for the first time as an artist with my fiber felt murals. I’m so excited! You can see me in front of happy delusions along with Jennifer Brooks Owen. Jenn not only blows beautiful glass beads, she also works her magic with colored pencil and watercolors.

Every year just gets better and better. There isn’t much time left and only room for a couple more artists, so please sign up today. It’s only $10 to participate and you get to keep all your own proceeds. Hurray!

Check out artsunlimited.org for more info. and for the application.

Mujuworld

So today I want to introduce to you all an amazing website I LOVE! Mujuworld is an amazing group of peeps based out of England who make incredible handmade toys. You all know by now that I’m a freak for felt art of any kind. These guys take the cake in my book for the most outstanding craftsmanship and innovative design. I love just getting lost on there site, and check out there flickr as well. I love their flickr page  because not only is their product amazing, but so is the way they highlight them through photography. Making a living from ones creative spirit takes work, and team Muju seems to have it down. Good work! The photo’s I’ve posted are from their Astral series. As a side note to all my friends, any of these would make a great present for me and are all on sale on the website. wink.

More fun with felt

So my first art showing last Friday was a huge success! Yeah! I can’t believe I even sold out half the show! Totally cool! And a very special thank you to Lady P of The Picaroon for posting a pre-show preview to get people down to the show, and to Celeste Gracey of the Renton Reporter for the wonderful post performance review that appeared on the Rentonreporter.com today. All the coverage has been great and very encouraging. Thanks to you all. Please hit on the above links to enjoy more photo’s, and enjoy what is posted here as well.

Fun Felt Forest

At tomorrow nights First Friday Block Party not only will the amazing work of Kristi HAND be taking over my window’s with her “World of Warped Toys”, but she is also going to be bringing in pieces from Little HAND’s School of Art. My Fun Felt Forest will be being displayed next door at Liberty Cafe, and both shows will remain up for the remainder of the month. This will mark the first time I have ever showed my own art in a show setting. I am super nervous, and ready to go! I can feel myself breaking all the rules I give to other artist and am really trying to take my own awesome advise, but when it’s your own, it’s such a different experience. I’m lovin it. I have been is such a creative space and couldn’t be happier with the results. More pictures to follow after tomorrow, but if you get a chance, come on down. 5-9, we will be having wine, and serving samples of NellieLynn’s Gourmet Cheesecake, and listening to live music from DJ Phil Anthony. 924 S. 3rd St., Renton, WA. 98057. Hope to see you there.

Felt & Zippers

Precious Northern Sky Felt and Zipper Necklace

I am in love with this necklace! I drooled over these necklaces by Londi Creations for about forever before finally breaking down and contacting her for info. Now I am happy to say we have them in the shop! Just a couple of her amazing necklaces and her super duper yum yum earrings. Each piece in uniquely its own. All make with zippers and felt. Two of the best crafting items around. So hurry in before they are all gone.

YUM!
