So October is among us and the time has come to pull out the scary. happy delusions happens to have a perfect artist for such a season. Mike Mullins create’s some great pieces using some classic spooky figures of the past. From Edgar Allen Poe, to the Bride of Frankenstein. Nostalgic and scary, me likey. Mike, who goes by Spooky Designs online is a native of Ohio, but found is why to us in overcast county, a perfect fit for such dark classics. Mike also has onesies, patches and vintage records with different work printed on them. Starting this Friday, October 1st and remaining on display thru the end of the month you can see Mike’s Spooky Designs displayed throughout our windows. And Mike will also be in the shop Friday from 5-9 if you want to meet the artists.
Mike has been an artist in the shop for about a year now and we just heart him so much. Not only is he a wonderful Dad to his baby and side-kick he also happens to be a very busy artist. Most of his work is of a darker Monster vintage. This Edgar Allen Poe Painting is my favorite although mostly he features many classic Frankenstein paintings and some that have been femmed up a little too. Everything from necklaces, patches, magnets, onesies, tee’s, and mirrors. definitely something for the Monster inside us all. Mike moved to Seattle by way of Ohio with his lovely wife a couple years back and we are happy to have such an amazing artist and person here with us in the shop. Mike’s work can also be found at other boutiques throughout the Seattle area including Diamond Tattoo right here in Renton.
