Early this month I got an email from a reporter asking to do a story on me. What?! Okay! Marcus was given my name from Joya over at the Tin Umbrella where I was getting ready to take down a very successful art show held there over the holidays. Marcus Green writes for the South Seattle Emerald, an online publication that features people, events, and stories from one of the most eclectic zip codes in Seattle (or in the nation for that matter). We met in the coffee shop as I was just finished taking down the art for delivery. I had an hour, and wished I had more. Marcus was the easiest reporter I’d ever chatted with. Open, warm, friendly, I basically felt like I was having coffee with an old friend. And two weeks later, here’s the story.
I believe in art. I believe in artists. I believe there is enough for all to go around. Theatre, music, craft, art, etc. Go out into this world and make something with it.

Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 2pm. Get your coffee, support local business and artisans.
Liberty Cafe is celebrating their 1 year anniversary party this Saturday, all day. Live music, good people, food, and the best coffee on the planet! As always, Mr. Mike Moskowitz will be there all day. And Mr. Johnny Uysal will be in and out doing all the behind the scene details.
On the same day, and at the other end of the block, Common Ground Coffee & Cupcakes will be celebrating their 3rd birthday! They too will be having live music, good people, cupcakes, and a raffle to help support our local salvation army. The Woon Family will have you feeling like family in no time.
So come on down to DTR this weekend and support our local coffee houses, and let them know how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication to our town.
Just in case you don’t live in Renton, and are not a part of the DTR crew, I thought everyone should know it’s Mr. Moskowitz’s birthday. Go in to his newly opened Liberty Cafe (right next door to happy delusions) and get yourself the best cup of coffee this side of the European Peninsula! LOL! That’s the “quote” used in a local newspaper that Mike apparently said. I know he’s much smarter than that though. Smartest person you’ve ever met says him.
But anyways. This is just a shout out to my honey to wish him a very happy birthday, and to remind everyone else how lucky we in Renton are to have Mike on the block.
Happy Birthday Crunchy!
