Early this month I got an email from a reporter asking to do a story on me. What?! Okay! Marcus was given my name from Joya over at the Tin Umbrella where I was getting ready to take down a very successful art show held there over the holidays. Marcus Green writes for the South Seattle Emerald, an online publication that features people, events, and stories from one of the most eclectic zip codes in Seattle (or in the nation for that matter). We met in the coffee shop as I was just finished taking down the art for delivery. I had an hour, and wished I had more. Marcus was the easiest reporter I’d ever chatted with. Open, warm, friendly, I basically felt like I was having coffee with an old friend. And two weeks later, here’s the story.
I believe in art. I believe in artists. I believe there is enough for all to go around. Theatre, music, craft, art, etc. Go out into this world and make something with it.
Classic Cars & Pinup Gals Art Show

Classic Cars and Pinup Gals go hand in hand, and this July happy delusions wants to you to put the theme into a craft.
Your work does not need to be narrative but should reflect a classic car & pinup theme. Your work can be on the sweet side or a darker interpretation, maybe even comical. Have fun with it! Please nothing overtly sexual or violent, tasteful artistic nudity is acceptable. All mediums will be accepted, sculpture, fiber art, plush etc… Traditional wall art will be accepted, however Pinup’s Against Cancer will be using most of the wall for their photos and we would love to find more craft or vintage themed car toys to play off their pictures. Artists will be limited to 3 pieces per person, but please note that we may only accept one of the three.
The sale commission is 40%.
This is a juried show.
2. Submit Art

We will start accepting submissions Monday, June 11th. The last day to submit will be Friday, June 15th.
Accepted artists will be notified by email Friday June 22nd. A list of exhibiting artists will be posted on our Facebook page, as well as on the happy delusions blog: happydelusions.wordpress.com
If accepted your work will need to be displayed / hang ready when it is dropped off at happy delusions.
Load in: Saturday, June 30th from 11-7 and Sunday July 1st from 11-5.
Load out: Thursday, August 2nd 11-6
Details on Load In / Out will be sent out with acceptance into the show.
Insurance: Although every precaution will be taken to insure the safety and security of accepted art, please be aware that pieces are submitted at your own risk. happy delusions does not insure submitted work against theft or damage.
Opening reception is Friday July 6th 6 – 9 pm. Wine and light snacks will be provided.
Annual Renton Car Show will be Sunday, July 8th from 10-6
Pinups Against Cancer will be here on both dates charming the crowd, accepting donations, and peddling their wares. You don’t wanna miss out on the fun!
Join us in Renton for the first annual “Undiscovered” show! An all ages music show featuring 5 local bands, 2 dance troops and 35 indie crafters from the greater Seattle area. This show is gonna be bad like a Mofo!
It’s gonna happen Saturday May 15th all day in Downtown Renton. The indie craft show will run from 2-9, and 5 different local indie bands will be playing and 2 dance troops will be performing between 5-11. It’s all happening at Harambee, 316 S. 3rd St. Renton WA. 98057. Harambee is a youth center in Renton that is totally hip with a large bright common area opened to an amazing stage perfect for this kind of show. It holds up to 600 people.
$20 booth fee for crafters. Crafters will be sent 10 tickets to the show when they sign up. Its $10 per ticket to the show and for every ticket you sell you will get $1.00 off your booth fee. Day of show the crafters will either give us money received for tickets or the tickets back.
Participants must bring their own table and chair (?) if you want to sit. You will have a space 5ft wide x 4ft deep. Set up will begin at 12. There are assigned spots so you do not need to come at 12 to get a good spot, just be ready by 2 when the doors open. Crafters need to provide 1 item for a swag bag. Swag bags will include craft items, cards from all participants, cd samples, and coupons to local businesses. The first 50 people thru the door will get one.
